Not really. The studio is located on the second floor of an older building without an elevator and requires navigating one flight of stairs. If stairs aren't accessible for you, contact Julie to discuss options such as in-home massage.

Ember & Flow specializes in customized therapeutic massage and bodywork. Julie may incorporate techniques such as trigger point therapy, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, reflexology, cupping, energy work, and other approaches depending on your goals and what your body needs during the session.
-
No. You don't need to choose a specific massage style. Sessions are customized based on your goals, preferences, areas of concern, and what Julie observes during the session.
-
Yes. Julie can incorporate deeper pressure and techniques such as trigger point therapy and myofascial work when appropriate. Rather than booking a separate deep tissue service, pressure and techniques are customized to your needs.

Ember & Flow offers 60-, 90-, and 120-minute sessions. A 60-minute session can work well for focused treatment, while 90- or 120-minute sessions allow time for multiple areas or a combination of focused and full-body work.

That depends on your lifestyle and your current situation. If you have any current goals (like getting out of pain, increasing range of motion) I would suggest weekly, or maybe even twice weekly, up front. If you’re more looking for a regular lifestyle schedule, that is entirely up to what feels best for you, your body, and your budget. Anywhere from weekly to monthly is very common.

Your session begins with a conversation about your goals, areas of concern, preferences, and anything you'd like Julie to know before you get on the table. The massage is then customized based on that conversation and what Julie observes throughout the session. You are always welcome to communicate about pressure, comfort, temperature, positioning, or anything else during your appointment.
-
Not if you don’t work with. You’ll be professionally draped at all times, but if you’d also rather keep underwear, swim trunks, or more on throughout your session, we can absolutely work to your comfort level.
-
Massage isn't appropriate for every situation. If you have an injury, recent surgery, medical condition, or other health concern, contact Julie before booking so she can determine whether massage is appropriate and whether modifications are needed. When appropriate, Julie may also ask to coordinate with your healthcare provider.
